 ELOPEMENT + MICRO-WEDDING

Double exposure edit from a Mount Rainier summer elopement.

The Experience

You won't regret making your day about you and your partner, and not about catering to a huge, budget-busting guest list, venue and extensive vendors. But I don't have to convince you of that. You know WHAT you want. You're here to decide WHO you want to document your vision.

I’m a clean edit, editorial storytelling photographer. What does this mean? I have spent years honing my photography skills to capture the cleanest, sharpest images with mostly true to life color. What is an editorial storytelling photographer? A blending of fashion-magazine aesthetics with authentic love to create intentional, artistic images. Emphasizing movement, light, shadow, and thoughtful composition for a curated feel, the goal is to mix careful posing with genuine emotion and interactions for an elevated final gallery. I want to tell your story by prompting compelling posing. I want to guide you with carefully planned interactions that result in images that can stand alone. I want every photo you share with your people to have its own wow-factor, and to show you in the most flattering light. This doesn’t mean I don’t focus on the details. I absolutely adore finding the smaller aspects of you and creatively rounding out your gallery. But I strive for those images to be able to stand alone as well.

I selectively choose black and white edits for special moments — a touch, expression, or movement — that can be elevated by the simplicity of monochrome. Often these edits are singled out, and occasionally a duplicate of their color counterpart, because sometimes they are equally beautiful. I don’t follow photography trends. I am not light and airy (overexposed). I don’t add a green, blue, orange or yellow tint to your images. And I wont be turning everything brown. I strive for bold color accuracy with contrast and creamy neutrals. You should not anticipate a gallery full of crooked horizons, blurry, out of focus images, or unintentional motion blur. I choose moments when these techniques should be applied, and use them sparingly. Trends are constantly evolving and aging. These photos are the lasting memories you hand down for generations. Those memories deserve clarity and quality.

I love adventuring with eloping couples. It fills my cup. I specialize in Snoqualmie, Mount Rainier and Olympic National Park area elopements, micro-weddings, proposals and engagement sessions. I am all over Washington to mid-Oregon primarily but always open to travel. My hobbies are editing, creative shoots, and capturing couples in beautiful places. Basically all photography all the time. Hey, love what you do and all that right?

Probably the best thing about eloping or having an intimate micro-wedding is you can shirk tradition and do things your way. It's your day after all. Each one is unique. A slower pace, really being present. But what can you expect from me?

Think of me as a Wedding Planner-lite, Bridal Attendant and honorary, bonus Maid of Honor. From permits and legal stuff, to scouting accommodations, timeline and location planning and bustling your dress if need be, i'm here for all of it. We will work together to plan adventures, activities, meals, all the little details. I primarily service Washington and Northern and Coastal Oregon. But im always open to travel and my passport is up to date.

The Process

1 DISCOVERY CALL

Whether you’re still shopping photographers, or ready to book with me, I will schedule a call to discuss your vision for the big day. In preparation, you will receive a brief questionnaire to make our call more efficient and give me some guidance on initial preparations so I can present my recommendations for your day.

BOOKING

To officially book my services, I will need both of your full legal names and a good email for each of you for your contract. I will also need the date or date range. A 30% non-refundable Retainer will follow to complete your booking. The remaining balance will be due 3 days prior to your event.

WHAT NEXT?

Think of an elopement/micro-wedding photographer as a  wedding planner of sorts, on a smaller scale. Im happy to help you look for accommodations, vendors, etc., but I leave the booking and purchases to you.

Within 2 weeks of booking, I will start preparing a detailed timeline and location plan. I will present my recommendation for locations and timeline, including hiking, driving, and all desired events and activities. I try to include images, maps, and a few alternative options to help you envision what your day could look like. From there we will work to lock in the plan. The timeline for this process will vary depending on how far out you are booked.

THE LEGAL STUFF

After we lock in the date and location for your ceremony, I will help you navigate the process for your permits (if needed), as well as your marriage license.

Ask yourself what you want to include. Be thoughtful about this.

What environment, if any? Mountains, waterfalls, forest, ocean? Do you have guests or will it be just the two of you? Will there be food? Entertainment? Do you want to adventure AND celebrate with guests? Do you want your guests to adventure with you? Or do you just want a traditional wedding, only smaller? Are you morning people or night owls?

All of these are critical questions to ask yourselves. If you know what you want, I can guide you on how much coverage you will need.  If you need to  exceed your anticipated timeframe by an hour or two, I have an hourly rate to invoice after your wedding.

Get a feel for what a timeline could look like for each package

When you book with me, this is an example of the cover sheet for the “Order of Events” you will actually receive as part of your package. The final package will include a map, directions with anticipated drive time between locations and time on location, and more details about what and who I will be photographing at different stages (getting ready photos, first looks, wedding party, etc.). It will also include must know details about the area and any location-dependent things to consider.

Below I have included examples of actual and potential elopements and micro weddings so you can envision what’s possible within the timeframe of each package.

The festivities are over, but the day following your Elopement or Intimate Wedding can be a celebration of it’s own. This is not a boudoir session, but can be intimate. This is a next day adventure as partners. Perhaps you want to hike to a hot spring or waterfall for a wind-down from the big day. Maybe you just want to hang around the Airbnb playing board games. This is a creative session without rules.

This is a day that is TRULY just for the two of you. No stress, no timeline. This would be an excellent surprise present for your new partner as a way to relax after the big day and to celebrate that feeling of being newlyweds.

Let’s Work Together

I will never pressure you to pick me, to raise your budget, or upsell you on a package. I will present you with your available options and allow you to make the best choice for you. When inquiring, I will send a link to schedule a Discovery Call or Facetime. If you prefer we can communicate via email, but I do encourage a call to get a feel for how I interact and if you can envision me being the person with you on your day. You won’t be added to an email list. And if you decide to move forward with another option, I promise it will be ok. My goal is to make people happy. If i’m not your person, I just want you to find them and I hope they make all of your photography dreams come true!

People > business always.
